Sunday Special

I have been trying to keep up with my blog by finding new and interesting things to write about and today it is my daughter and myself that are the subject of my post. Well, a couple of weeks ago while at the Leon Valley Trade and Market Days show, a local newspaper photographer walked by our booth and asked if he could take our picture. He was doing a pictorial piece about some of the local craftsmen that frequent this event and he chose us as one of the booths to photograph.

Needless to say we were flattered and a bit leary, it had been humid all day long and well you could say we were having a bit of a "bad hair day". We agreed to have our picture taken and today it is in the paper. It is very exciting for us and we do hope that the publicity brings in more traffic to this once a month show.
Leon Valley is on the West side of San Antonio and the community/conference center is located on Evers Rd. http://www.leonvalleytradeandmarketdays.com/

Yesterday I attended the Greater San Antonio Quilt Guild Show http://www.sanantonioquilt.org/ that is held every other year here in Live Oak, Tx at the Live Oak Civic Center. This year the show is titled, "Kaleidoscope of Quilts", and as always there were some fabulous entries on display. I am always amazed at the creativity and work that goes into some of these quilts, they are truly works of art. Unfortunately the show rules prohibit the use of photographs on any website so I am sorry I can not share these lovelies with you.
Next month I will be attending Quilt Festival in Houston and I am so excited to be sharing this trip with my daughter for the third year in a row, maybe we will see you there. We will be the ones carrying the large tote bags full of goodies.

That's so cool.
I hope it brings people to your booth now that they know they can get a heirloom quality quilt from a local crafter.
